Babies who are deprived of oxygen at birth have an increased chance of suffering from severe brain damage. This damage can result in neurodevelopmental disorders or intellectual disabilities as the child grows older, and in some cases, it can even result in serious conditions such as cerebral palsy. A recent Statesman Journal report describes the plight of a young cerebral palsy sufferer in Oregon named Maverick Ramseyer, and what his parents, Elizabeth and Derrick, have to endure because of his condition. Maverick’s cerebral palsy is alleged to have been caused by his doctors during his birth.
